Abstract

It is well known that nations do not establish and not reserve their position in
the map of scientific, cognitive and cultural influence except by leaning and
relying on their intellectual impact, whose foundations were built through the
accumulation of experiences and their embodiment in the field of practical
application. It is for this reason the idea of this scientific conference emerged to
unveil the qualitative Yemeni heritage in the field of Quranic education. This
study, like other research papers that will break through the challenges, aimed to
show the Yemeni roles and proudly present them to the Islamic World that the
Yemeni's reading mentality is no less significant than the mentalities of their peers
in the urban Muslim countries in the field of recitation. It is not only in the Yemeni
geographical area, but also Yemen has worked for a long time on exporting its
distinctive Qur’anic recitations and its pioneers (Senior Reciters) to the Islamic
geographical scope. So they innovated while reserving a foothold in the Qur’anic
immortalization map. This is what has been assured by references we consulted
to collect Qur’anic recitations and analyzed them using the critical analysis tools.
This study consisted of an Introduction, Three Sections and a Conclusion. The
introduction dealt with the objectives of the study, the methodology used to reveal
its components, and the general structure of the study. The first section is about
(Yemeni Reading Schools, Iqra Schools, Origin and Establishment). I will show
the reader the Yemeni Schools of Reading that struck its depths in the roots of
history, and I will show the scenes of scientific establishment and cognitive
rooting of these schools through two dimensions: The Origin dimension (i.e. the
first centuries), and the contemporary dimension (i.e. the current era). In the first
topic, I will talk about the emergence of Yemeni Schools of Reading in ancient
eras and the positive role they played in the normalization of Qur’anic life in urban
Muslim countries. In the second topic, I will talk about the emergence of Yemeni
Schools of Reading in the current era and the nature of the role that these schools
played in the Qur’anic renaissance that we witness where the fortresses of the
Holy Qur’an are being established from time to time. The second section is about
(Historical Review of Schools of Reading and the Readings in Yemen). I will
show in this section an analytical display to stand on the scientific and cultural
background of these schools. I will present originality schools and their scientific
programs as well as the contemporary enlightenment schools and their scientific
and rehabilitative programs in two topics: In the first topic, I will historically
review the urban movement of Yemeni Schools of Reading in ancient ages, and
the extent of their contributions to promoting Quranic culture. In the second topic,
I will display the Schools of Reading in present era as they spread the golden
strings of the Qur’an in the quarters of our beloved Yemen and other countries of
the Arab and Islamic world. The third section is about (The Role of Qur’anic
Schools in Yemen). I will display the events of practical application of the stage
of educational and knowledge achievement. I will focus on the most prominent
points of community interaction for these schools and how these schools have
become an integral part of community advancement in the various fields of human
and intellectual development. In the first topic, I will reveal the positive roles of
Yemeni Reading Schools in building the individual value system and its various
dimensions. In the second topic, I will explain about the nature of the qualitative
roles of Yemeni Schools of Reading in building the society and contributing to
moving the effectiveness wheel. The conclusion includes the most important
points that I focused on in this study
