This research tackles the rules of pausing at the end of Ayats which the Kufic Count recitation uniquely offers compared to the other approved recitations. The topic highlights the prominent position of the Kufic recitation among the recitations in other countries. it is the most famous because of its close association with the Hafis recitation narrated by Aasim, which is widespread in the Islamic world. The research aims to reveal the close relationship between the sciences of pausing and starting, in the recitation of Ayats, and counting Ayats by tracing the positions of Ayat's end that the Kufic recitation uniquely counts, explaining why it pauses or continues, in addition to reviewing the opinions of scholars on pausing and starting at these points.
The researcher has adopted an inductive-analytical approach and divided the research into three topics preceded by an introduction and followed by a conclusion. The first topic introduces the science of pausing, its importance, the types of pausing, and the ruling of pausing at the end of Ayats. The second topic defines the science of counting Ayats, and its importance, introduces the Kufic counting method, and ways to identify the pause, and considers their counting or dropping them. The third topic clarifies the rules of pausing at the ends of Ayats according to the Kufic recitation. Eventually, the research ends with a close that summarizes the main findings and recommendations, a list of sources and references, and the research index.
