he study aimed to identify the authoritarian practices that
hinder civic education in Marib city schools, and the impact of the
study variables. The researcher used the descriptive approach and
the questionnaire tool. The sample was (252) male and female
teachers. The study found:
Moderate approval of authoritarian practices in the domains
as a whole, with an average of (3.19), with that approval varying
from one domain to another, as the field of school activities topped
those domains, with an average (3.55) The field of teacher-student
relationship ranked second. With an average of (3.06), and in the
last place came the field of the school administration’s relationship
with its employees, with an average of (2.97). The study showed
that there were statistically significant differences at the value of
(0.05) according to the school type variable in favor of government
schools and years of experience, and in favor of those with more
than ten years of experience. While there are no significant
differences according to the gender variable at significance value
of (0.25).
