Abstract

This research focused on defining the methodology of jurisprudential formulation according to Imam Al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, and studying the book "Al-Um" as a model by following the inductive-analytical method. It included some applications of certain texts from this book and some examples of its methodology.

It has been shown that Imam al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, begins discussing the chapters of jurisprudence in his book "Al-Umm" and his talk about jurisprudential branches by deducing verses from the Wise Book, then deducing from the purified Sunnah and the reports from the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, with rational evidence. He frequently relies on the Arabic language to understand texts, then derives foundational rules from the legal texts and applies them to the jurisprudential issue under discussion.

The researcher recommends paying attention to this type of studies that focus on the scientific wealth left by the scholars of Islam, and outlining a general methodology in the methods of jurisprudential class studies that focus on the scientific wealth left by the scholars of Islam and outlining a general method to jurisprudential classification
