The Impact of Textuality in Achieving the Purposes of Surat Al-Humza

The current study examined the impact of textuality in achieving the objectives of Surat Al-Humza. The study gets benefit from the approach of textual science in achieving this. This study consisted of an introduction, six sections and a conclusion. The first four sections show the effect of the standards of the coherence and cohesion in achieving these objectives. The fifth section devotes to the criteria of intentionality and receptivity. The research work studies intentionality in the mentioned Surah and its effect on the structure of the text, receptivity and its effect in achieving the purposes of the surah. The sixth section deals with the three criteria related to the material and cultural context surrounding the text such as media and intertextuality, and their impact in achieving the purposes of the surah. The general purposes of Surat 'Al-Humza' are to declare shame and warn of torment for everyone who thinks that his salvation and immortality is achieved by collecting money, so he criticizes and attacks people, despising their deeds and looking down upon them. In fact, collecting money throws its owner into the burning fire, as a punishment for his arrogance, deception with it, and failure to spend it. This Surah warns against ((whispering and insulting)). This Surah stresses the importance of avoiding gossip and defamation of others
