The study aimed to identify the level of psychological adaptation among adolescents whose homes had been destroyed and its relationship to certain variables (gender, academic level, economic status, age group, place of residence). The researcher used a psychological adaptation scale developed by the researcher. The sample consisted of 491 adolescents 247 boys and 244 girls) aged 12 to 21 in the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip. The researcher used a descriptive analytical approach. The study reached the following conclusions: The level of psychological adjustment among adolescents whose homes were destroyed in the southern governorates (Gaza Strip) was found to be high, with a relative weight of 78.1%. School adjustment ranked first with a relative weight of 81.0%. There were significant differences in the overall score in favor of females in terms of psychological adjustment among adolescents whose homes were destroyed in the southern governorates (Gaza Strip), attributable to gender. The differences were in favor of females, and the quarterly average was in favor of 85% and above.
The study concluded that the Palestinian government and international support institutions should be urged to accelerate the reconstruction of the homes of adolescents whose homes were destroyed, and to intensify and diversify psychological and social support programs in educational institutions for adolescents whose homes were destroyed in the southern governorates (Gaza Strip).
