The Impact of Social Welfare Programs on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals Civil Society Organizations in Hadhramaut Governorate As a Case Study

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of social care programs in achieving sustainable development goals in civil society organizations. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach to achieve the study objectives. The study sample consisted of (30) directors and department heads, who were chosen intentionally from various civil society organizations in Hadhramaut Governorate in the Republic of Yemen The questionnaire was used as a study tool. Its validity and reliability were verified, with a reliability value of (0.943). After statistically processing the data using the SPSS program, the study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the overall average impact of social care programs on achieving sustainable development goals was (3.5903), which is a high degree of achievement. The (health) field came in first place, then the (social) field, then the (educational) field, and there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) between the sample members’ estimates in each field of the questionnaire and in the total score of the questionnaire items attributed to the gender variable, the educational qualification variable, and the years of experience variable. There are statistically significant differences at a significance level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the sample members’ estimates in the health field and the social field attributed to the job variable in favor of department heads. There are no statistically significant differences at a significance level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the sample members’ estimates in the questionnaire fields and in the total score of the questionnaire items attributed to the job variable as a whole. It recommended raising the efficiency of beneficiaries of social care programmes to achieve sustainable development goals, and the factors that influence the achievement of these policies, as well as diversifying the factors contributing to achieving development goals through innovation in methods to serve the poor, especially sustainable projects and programmes. She suggested conducting a similar study on the role of social welfare programmes in promoting and growing the economy, as well as their role in reducing social problems and increasing poverty rates.
