This research aims to study the correspondence between the verses and the cosmic events in Surah Al-Anbiya. It seeks to demonstrate the extent of the harmony of their meanings and implications by discussing the statements of early scholars of interpretation and briefly comparing them with some modern experimental scientific studies. This is achieved by tracing the chronological sequence of these verses and events, from the beginning of the splitting of the heavens and the earth to the folding of the heavens and their transformation.
It became evident through this study that the Holy Quran in this Surah presents these events sequentially and coherently. It starts with the splitting of the heavens and the earth, followed by the creation of water, which becomes a cause for life on Earth. Then it mentions the stabilizing of the earth with mountains, and its protection by the preserved canopy, and safeguards against celestial bodies and other falling objects. This is followed by the alternation of night and day, accompanied by reference to their two signs—the sun and the moon—and their movement. After that the Surah indicates the reality and meaning of the earth's reduction, concluding with the mention of the folding of the sky, the annihilation of its celestial bodies, everything on Earth, and the occurrence of the Hour.
